Disney World and Universal Studios
I grew up going to Disneyland in California almost once a year, but we never made the long trek across the country to Disney World because WHO HAS TIME FOR THAT. But everything changed when they put the Wizarding World of Harry Potter in at Universal Studios in Orlando. This last spring my dad had a business conference in Orlando and was planning on taking my mom and sister with him to visit all the parks. My sweet 12 year old sister (probably just because she didn't want to be stuck with my parents for a week ;)) went to my parents and asked if she could buy me a plane ticket to come with them. Next thing I know, we are all touching down in the Orlando airport, ready for an amazing week! We spent our first few days in Universal Studios, where I cried like a baby when I heard the Harry Potter score playing. IT WAS JUST SO MAGICAL I COULDN'T HANDLE IT. We drank butterbeer (which I hated), ran around yelling spells at the top of our lungs, ate more food than we could handle, and rode the rides more times that we could count. We also went to Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom, which were both just as magical as you can imagine. Animal Kingdom was especially mind-blowing; their safari ride was OUT OF THIS WORLD. A giraffe licked me, a rhino ran full force into our car, a real life elephant sprayed us with water, and the lions roared so loud my sister jumped out of her seat. SO DANG MAGICAL.
